When I am weary of the weakness that is inherent of my diagnosis, this simple prayer reminds me of my purpose. May it encourage you to rely on Christ’s […]

On the Queen's Couch: You, Me, and Esther | www.therescuedletters.com

“I’ll meet you on the queen’s couch.” Two weeks ago, these seven words were spoken often between my dear friend and I. Walking towards that couch our first morning at the conference together, my steps slowed and I paused to take it all in. This was not what I was expecting. Beautiful. Special. Chosen for […]

Crazy medical events. Terminal illness with no cure or treatment. Life upturned. Priorities rearranged. Learning to Listen When God Tells You to Get Ready | www.therescuedletters.com

I was sitting on our screened-in porch listening to the early morning songs of my backyard bird friends when God told me to get ready. This is my porch. This is where I sit every morning in my robe, cradling a steaming cup of coffee and sucking in a few deep breaths of oxygen to wake […]

Starting the Story: Finding Joy and Gratitude in the Midst of a Miscarriage|therescuedletters.com

Let me start with these words and hear me clearly: a miscarriage is not about joy. The words spoken here have taken nine months to even begin to seem real and they have not been typed without tears spilling profusely onto this keyboard. I write these words while holding anyone who has experienced the loss […]

Professional dry shampoo user who loves the Bible, total Disney nerd with an overdue library account. Laundry is not my spiritual gift.

But there's also this...
