The phone call in the middle of the night. The diagnosis you don’t think you can face. The ministry you don’t think you are strong enough for. The unknown is always beckoning, threatening to paralyze and promising to keep us from the victorious Christian life that is rightfully ours.

What if we could find the courage to readily face whatever falls upon our path? The answer may be easier than you think. It’s found in God’s call to get ready, to make preparations for His will, and to watch for His movement.

This call is written all throughout the Bible, but the specific tools we need to do those things are found in the first five chapters of Joshua. They have been written for you, and so has this study.

As we follow the Israelite journey across the Jordan River and into the Promised Land, we will learn how to prepare our hearts for the unknown in our futures.
Leaning on wisdom from Joshua, a man who was always at the ready, this six-week study of Joshua 1-5 will prepare you for:
the battle
the blessing
and the pressing onward toward our prize.
Together, we’ll find God’s plan for the woman who knows the battle is coming, but refuses to leave the front line. And you’ll find the courage to face the unknown.

I was fresh out of college, up early and getting ready for a day of job searching. I walked past the TV on my way to the bathroom and stopped when I saw what was on the news. I immediately called my aunt, who raised me after my mother died, and she told me to get back in bed. Not to avoid the reality of it, but to process the shock of what was happening and mourn for our nation. So that's exactly what I did.

I'm typing this from a hotel in Harrisburg, PA, where my family and I are staying for my son's hockey tournament this weekend. We are one block from a downtown church and its church bells ring out every hour 💜

When I miscarried our second child five years ago, I felt like I couldn't talk about it in public. I am so thankful for my friend Rachel, who is passionate about supporting women who have dealt with pregnancy loss. She has recently released a new book called Unexpecting: Real Talk on Pregnancy Loss and I know it will encourage many. Happy Monday! Today, I'm making final tweaks on an ecumenical video teaching project and planning for the launch of a new women's ministry program at my church 😍 I've stepped into the Women's Ministry Coordinator role there and I am SO EXCITED to get things going.

God isn’t looking for perfect people who know how to do everything right.
He’s looking for people who are willing to choose habits of faithfulness. He will
direct the outpouring of our time spent with Him to spill over where it needs to.
This is our manifesto as emulators of Jesus: Worship. Word. Pray. Obey.
We will fulfill our purpose on earth when we routinely display these patterns of
determined faithfulness.
