A Prayer for the Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Warrior

September 7, 2016 Leave a Comment

Psalm 139 | www.therescuedletters.com this …

Vascular Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome is a connective tissue disorder that makes blood vessels, arteries, and organs prone to spontaneous rupture. You can read more about it here. When I am weary of the weakness that is inherent of my diagnosis, this simple prayer reminds me of my purpose. May it encourage you to rely on Christ’s power alone when you are face to face with things that hold you back.

Slip my skin on you today, Lord.

What lies beneath it are just bones and tissue…held together by collagen that man tells me is faulty.

But I know better.

Beneath all these things is a heart that longs to praise you.

And I know you do not make mistakes.

I praise you for the earthly weakness that you have given me, knowing that my weakness only makes way for your strength.

So slip my skin on you because I am just a vessel for your will. And I trust that you are always working for my good.

But here's the long story.
