Live with Courage

  • I've spent the past two years studying the life and earthly ministry of Jesus and of all the things I learned here's what resonated the most:
.
💓Jesus is determined to love you.💓
.
There is no mistake you can't come back from. There is nothing He can't redeem. There isn't a hurt He cannot heal. The intentional and unwavering pursuit of our hearts has always been His mission.
.
So above all of the messages you'll hear today, let this one echo loudly:
.
💖Jesus loves you. Jesus loves you. Jesus loves you. 💖
  • Let the Bible educate your understanding of the Bible. Here's what I mean by that:
.
I used to read this verse and think "well shoot, I guess my prayers aren't powerful and effective...I sin every day! There's no way God would ever consider me righteous."
.
But if Paul were sitting here with us he'd say that I had been missing the point. Consider this:
.
"This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." - Romans 3:22-24
.
Our righteousness is not dependent on us, it comes solely from the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for us. Even though I am a sinner, God sees me as righteous because of Jesus. He sees you as righteous too. And THAT'S the gift of the good news I'm reading in Romans with the gals over in my private Facebook group this week. (link's in the bio if you want to join)
.
So get those prayers rolling. YOUR prayers are powerful and effective.
.
Thank you, Jesus.
  • Trusting God brings deep peace.
.
I’ve spent the past two weeks starting and ending all of my prayers with four simple words: I trust you, Jesus. I’ve said it even when I’m not sure I mean it. Here’s the good news – it has brought me peace. In His gracious and mysterious way, Jesus is taking my prayers of trust and giving them back in peace. By telling God I trust Him, I actually *do* end up trusting Him. And that frees my mind to enjoy the day ahead with peace.
.
Maybe you need that peace today too. If so, try it now with this quick prayer:
.
🙏In this INSERT HARD THING HERE, I trust you Jesus.
.
I’m saying the same prayer along with you. And I’m rooting for you, always.
  • The first time we had a Mickey ice cream bar, we had walked up to Rafiki's Planet Watch (long walk + a train ride) on an "Animal Kingdom hot" kind of day (very hot). We were pooped. We were the only people in that particular area and we stopped to get some ice cream to cool off. And then Chip and Dale strolled by and got one too, which Thomas thought was hilarious. We got our picture taken with them and it was a fun moment for my then-seven year old (and his Disney-loving mama).
.
Recently, Disney released a special edition ice cream bar for grocery stores to celebrate Mickey's 90th birthday and yesterday I finally found them! After searching four stores. Sometimes it's the smallest things that make the biggest difference, but y'all having that ice cream bar for dessert last night was the best.
.
The point of all this? Life is precious. Go live it up.
  • Three things I'm loving this week:
.
🍪 We have an abundant supply of thin mints that we are rationing to hopefully last us until March.
.
☀️ The warmer weather!!!
.
📖 Reading through the Bible with the sweetest community of women over in my private Facebook group. We just started a new plan on Romans. Want in? Link's in the bio.
.
Happy Tuesday!
  • Fist bumps to all my friends up north and a reminder that we're one day closer to spring. Honestly I don't know how anyone north of North Carolina is surviving. I'm such a pansy in cold weather.
  • Priorities for 2019 💜
  • Usually when I am out of town doing ministry things, I'm hanging with a bunch of women. This weekend, I got to do it with my best friend.
.
And just in case anyone is wondering, he still has 1,000 times more energy than I do. 😴
