Ask Heather: Which Bible translation should I read?

Here’s a question I get asked often: how do I choose the right Bible translation? I get it. The Bible can be intimidating on its own…AND I also have to choose which version to read? There are so many!  If you are short on time, this is always my quick response: read the translation that […]

We’re reading through Deuteronomy this month in my Bible reading community and one word that keeps showing up is remember. The book of Deuteronomy is a continuation of the Israelites’ journey toward the Promised Land. In it, Moses gives them a giant pep talk on how to love God well and a reminder of the […]

Few things make us feel as helpless as living with a story we don’t like. Maybe one that involves the loss of a loved one, an unwanted transition, a difficult diagnosis, or a dream that fell through. At one time or another, we all deal with disappointments and feelings that life is unfair or that […]

Rescue. The word itself is such an integral piece of my story with Jesus and I would guess you might say the same. Rescue what He has done for me and what He continues to do for me still. He has rescued me from the consequences of my own sin and He continues to rescue […]

Living with a chronic disorder teaches you to hold the future with loose hands, but that’s not necessarily a bad perspective to have. Maybe you’ve got that same perspective? Maybe you know […]

Diagnosed with an incurable genetic disorder that I inherited from my mom, I know what it's like living with a story that is not easy. I've got a slew of major medical events in my chart. Oh and my doctors tell me that my life expectancy with vEDS is 48. So there’s that.

But there's also this...
